Este correo es para recordar el workshop introductorio sobre topología geométrica organizado por  Marc Kegel<https://marckegel.github.io/> que tendrá lugar mañana en el aula 1.2 de la facultad de matemáticas.

Me gustaría destacar la ponencia de Rhuaidi Burke<https://www.raburke.xyz/mathematics>, topólogo computacional de la universidad de Oxford especializado en 4-variedades. Su charla tendrá lugar a las 17:00, pero aún no tiene abstract. El programa completo puede encontrarse aquí:

(1) On Wednesday, October 21, Isacco and I are organizing a one-day workshop on Geometric Topology:

This workshop is deliberately aimed at a broader audience. In particular, advanced bachelor's students, master's students, and PhD students are very welcome. Below is an advertisement.

(2) This semester, I am coorganizing K-OS (Knot Online Seminar): https://k-os.math.ethz.ch/index.html

The next talk will take place on Thursday, October 15: Daniel Kasprowski — Stably exotic fillings of 3-manifolds

In december there is a very exciting talk about the recent solution of the Boureau representation.

We will always watch the talks together. We will meet beforehand in my office for some tea and discussion and then watch the talk together. The talks are primarily intended for researchers in low-dimensional topology, but everyone who is interested is very welcome to join. We can try to answer questions and explain the necessary background, and, if people are interested, I am also happy to stay afterwards and try to explain the main ideas of the talk and what it was about.

For this talk, we will do the same: meet beforehand in my office for tea and some discussion, and then go to the talk together.
