We combine ecological and eco-evolutionary models with field work and data analyses to understand and predict biodiversity dynamics. To support our team, we seek a scientific programmer and modeller. <p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Runtime optimization, calibration and parameterisation, setting up simulation experiments, parallelization, support the use of HPC (High-Performance Computing), and output analysis,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Promoting best practices in modelling and data management among group members,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Support for analysis and processing of raw data (e.g., images or LiDAR).</p>

<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Skill and experience in scientific software programming, demonstrated through successful Bachelor and Master degrees in computer science, geoecology, biology, physics, mathematics, or similar
disciplines,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Strong experience and knowledge in programming mechanistic, individual-based and/or theoretical ecological as well as eco-evolutionary models,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Experience with AI methods, parallel and high-performance computing, interactive software, and front-end development is advantageous,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Experience in programming with multiple computer languages (e.g., R, Julia, Java, MATLAB, C++) and in parameterising models is desirable,</p>
<p style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif">• Good communication skills and proficiency in English is necessary</p>
